Chouf Ouchouf (which in Arabic means 'Look and Look Again') is a contemporary circus show combining music and movement to create a work full of life and enthusiasm. Previous productions by the Swiss movement artist Martin Zimmermann (Winterthur, Switzerland 1970) and his compatriot, DJ/composer Dimitri de Perrot (Neuchâtel, Switzerland 1976), such as Gaff Aff, have pioneered a new kind of movement theatre akin to mime and clowning accompanied by an original music soundtrack, while the 12 acrobats of the Groupe Acrobatique de Tanger have already won critical acclaim in Europe for their highly-skilled performances in works such as Taoub. Here, they pool their talents in a production combining humour and fantasy which, through a range of acts, envelops the audience in a poetic intensity. As well as the staging and directing, Zimmerman and de Perrot also look after the choreography and have created special sounds for the performance.
