A totally unique sound had developed around her wonderful, soft, sweet voice. It wasn't jazz, or pop, or electronica but a timeless mix of them all.

Somewhere between the likes of Tom Waits, the Cocteau Twins, Björk and PJ Harvey one finds the place where the unusual, avant-garde style music of Norwegian artist, Hanne Hukkelberg emerged.
Hukkelberg was born in 1979 and started singing and playing instruments at the age of three. This was later followed by performances in a string of jazz, pop, and rock outfits which has earned her a reputation as a powerful live performer.
The singer's official biography states that the songs on her latest album, Blood From A Stone, "continue her penchant for combining traditional and unusual instrumentation to form a soundscape unique to her. For a self-confessed 'rock' album, Blood From A Stone still manages to include field recordings of flagpoles, train doors, seagulls, clogs, rocks, kitchen utensils, freezers, stoves and a school desk. And no regular drum kit."
