It resorts to humour and onstage magic in which the most unexpected trick lies in the service of a constant and vigorous poetic art...
- Joan Anton Benach, La Vanguardia
Victoria Thierrée Chaplin (daughter of Charlie Chaplin), together with her partner, the actor Jean-Baptiste Thierrée, has created productions full of magic and visual poetry, such as Le Cirque Invisible and Le Cirque Imaginaire. On this occasion, together with their daughter, Aurélia Thierrée, they bring to Madrid for the first time El Oratorio de Aurélia, a subtly extravagant fantasy which recalls the illusionary surroundings of their previous works.
A piece of furniture containing three drawers in which a woman is hiding, red velvet curtains, wooden dolls, fantasy creatures, shadows, tricks, acrobatics... and a passing train. This comic collage is spread out across the stage with the absurd logic of an upside-down world. Accompanied by dancer Jaime Martínez and various indefinable moving objects, Aurélia travels from dream to dream while the audience identifies with the forgotten memories of childhood.
