Bausch is a choreographer who has expanded the possibilities of modern dance, opening up the genre to snatches of dialogue, stage visions and chaotic intrusions from everyday life.
- The Guardian
Pina Bausch (Solingen 1940) is an onstage magician, an emblematic figure of modern dance and a pioneer since the 1970s of choreography which goes to the theatrical limits. Here she presents Vollmond (Full Moon) for this year’s Festival de Otoño, a work which was first seen in Wuppertal, Germany, in 2006. An intensely aquatic, physical and overwhelmingly visual production in which thirteen dancers share, move and slide their way through more two hours of music, poetry and pure dance.
Bausch, choreographer and creator, the origin of legendary titles such as Café Müller, Nefés and Palermo Palermo, uses the power of images and brilliant stage direction to take us on a journey to this world of water, life and a full moon.
