The celebrated British vocal chamber group, The Hilliard Ensemble, joins with renowned German composer, Heiner Goebbels, for what Goebbels himself has described as a "staged concert in three tableaux". Each of the three parts is centred on a particular text, the first being TS Eliot's The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock, followed by Maurice Blanchot's The Madness of the Day and Samuel Beckett's Worstward Ho. These form the basis for an exploration of the meaning of ‘I’ using the four members of the Hilliard Ensemble and their precise vocal delivery to take the audience outside of time and place, in which an impossible story unfolds and a journey never begins - an allegory of antiheroism.
