An ambivalent relation between rationality and pathology very much from the 1960s and perfectly represented. A true “persecutor”...

Julio Cortázar and Charlie Parker - word and jazz seeking eternity. The life of the protagonist, Johnny Carter (alias Parker) and his dependence on alcohol and drugs. His obsession of passing the time in order to achieve immortality through his music. Opposite him, Bruno the critic, a privileged witness of the genius and the self-destruction, representing the comforts of the material life, more down-to-earth than in the clouds. Julio Cortázar lives between the two, between the exploration of new forms and the search for well-being and recognition. The musical themes make up a puzzle, a distorted mirror of works by Parker, plus numbers from Dani Nel.lo, inspired by the spirit of bebop, a movement of which Charlie Parker was the leading representative and a great jazz revolution, not all of it accessible, particularly for a white public.
